We’ve watched our lil bro Bonetics (@boneticsart) grow into a great visual dance artist & one helluva performer over the past several years since we first stumbled on the work of the lanky 14-year-old. Over the past year his career took some major leaps forward and his amazing contortion/Bonebreak photos have garnered quite a following. But last weekend his secret weapon, an ability to exude Truth and Heart to an audience, was unleashed at the perfect time & place! Jerome and I have spent many hours analyzing the vast, unexplored territory of the emotional and storytelling aspects of the Flex/Bonebreak movement. We felt if someone could go beyond the freakish, horrifying, and implied dystopian, violent connotations of genre and tap into the “heart” of a narrative, it would not only be groundbreaking, but also widely embraced. We’ve seen several performers dabble a little bit in this territory, but the way Junior presented himself to the world on BGT broke down huge sections of that wall. Check out Bonetics, - not just another Flex contestant on a reality show who makes the judges cringe, but a true pioneer of the art form. Deep bow, homie. It’s definitely Onward and Upward!
